Twenty-plus years behind the decks. Four countries. Corporate, club, radio, and residencies. Every room, read differently. Event planner's favourite in the corporate space.
Cue One started his career in early 2001 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe — quickly becoming one of the city's most admired open format DJs. Early tours took him across the region to Lusaka, Zambia and Francistown, Botswana, where he earned a feature in the Mmegi newspaper.
In 2013 he moved to Johannesburg, running events for Monash University and building into the city's club circuit. By 2015 he was a celebrity judge for the Monash talent show, and opened for DJ Kent at Vacca Mata, Montecasino Fourways — his first major club slot in the city.
Radio followed. A Top 20 countdown slot on Visions FM Internet Radio, with guest sets across UJFM, Metro FM, 947 and YFM. On-screen work came through Trace TV's All Black Sessions in 2020 — both a guest set and a Creative Director credit.
Since 2016, residencies have included News Cafe Sitter, Ballbreakers, Onyx Sindays, Jojo’s Rooftop Maboneng, and multi-location resident work across several venues. He also helped launch and grow Orthodox, Cohibar, Casa De Pablo and Black Panther Lounge — playing promoter and artist liaison alongside the booth, building relationships with established DJs across the Joburg metro.
Today, Cue One is an official Fochinni Group vendor (resident DJ for The Fix stores nationwide) and an event planner's first call in the corporate space. Open format. Reads the room. Doesn't miss.
